We had an absolutely unforgettable experience at The Cellar in Cephalonia, Greece. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—especially the two waiters who were polite, enthusiastic, and full of knowledge about every dish.
One of the chefs personally showed us the day’s fresh catch, explaining each one in detail to us. It was a lovely, personal touch that really set the tone for the rest of the meal. The standout dish was the lobster spaghetti—beautifully cooked and packed with flavour. Truly one of the best we’ve ever had.
The rest of the menu was equally impressive: delicious, and immaculately presented. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was served promptly with care and attention. The entire team clearly takes pride in what they do.
The restaurant itself is in a beautiful spot by a small marina, adding to the charm and relaxed atmosphere. Every single person in our group had a brilliant time, and we all agreed it was fantastic value for money.

Out of all the restaurants my partner and I visited during our stay in Sami, this one was by far the best. The food was absolutely incredible—full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, offering great recommendations that made our meal even more memorable. If you're visiting Sami, this place is a must. Highly recommended!

Charming waterfront restaurant in Sami. Perfect day itinerary, come spend a day at Antisamos beach, hit Melissani and Dogarati caves, then eat at the Cellar before heading home! We had the Greek salad, garlic shrimps and seafood pasta, all were very good! Garlic shrimps reminded us of those found in Spain. Lots of seafood in the seafood pasta, with good flavor. Attentive service!

My girlfriend and I spent a few days in Kefalonia and were lucky to discover this amazing restaurant right on the port of Sami. It quickly became our favourite place to eat — so much so that we returned two days in a row for lunch!
The food was absolutely delicious (10/10), the drinks were excellent (10/10), but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible service from our waiter, Andreas, along with Socol.
Working in the hospitality industry myself, I’ve rarely come across someone as professional and passionate as Andreas. He gave us detailed explanations about the wine, made thoughtful recommendations, and turned a great meal into an exceptional experience. His knowledge and warm attitude truly stood out.
This restaurant is a must-visit if you’re in Kefalonia — I will definitely be coming back!

Highly recommend if you are in Sami. Best food we have had in Kefalonia. We tried the anchovies, mackerel, tzatziki, fried calamari, Greek salad and fried cheese with fig marmalade. The mains looked amazing too but we prefer to try a few appetisers. Everything was delicious and slightly more elevated that the standard taverna. The waiter was lovely too, excellent service and great view from the table.

We ate lunch at The Cellar and it was amazing.. the food, the service, the views. We had the crab pasta, seafood pasta and greek salad. All dishes were full of flavour and fresh. Would highly recommend.

A truly wonderful spot right on the sea, with excellent food, a peaceful setting, and the friendliest staff. We tried the linguine with shrimp, which was amazing, and also really enjoyed the swordfish souvlaki.

Absolutely incredible food and service. We've eaten a lot of seafood on our trip around Kefalonia, and The Cellar in Sami is hands down the best we've had.
Honestly, I'm still dreaming about the mackerel. It was, without a doubt, the best I have ever eaten anywhere. Beautifully accompanied with the dressing and so fresh.
We came here wanting to try a bit of everything, and it was the perfect place for it. The menu is perfectly put together for ordering lots of small dishes to share, making for a more fun and authentic dining experience. Aside from the mackerel, the marinated anchovies were a real standout, as was the fried gruyère with fig – an absolute must-try.
What made the whole experience even better was the service. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and so friendly, which really added to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. When we sat down here i didn't think id have such an amazing evening! Andreas and Giorgos were absolutely brilliant catering to our every need always chatty and bubbly throughout. We had the scallops and sautéed shrimps for starters, let me tell you they were out of this world!!! And cod and calamari was the best we have ever had fresh and full of flavor! Outstanding experience 👏

Had a gorgeous meal here. All food was lovely. Great friendly service. It was my Mum's birthday and we asked if there was anything they could put together for a surprise pudding and the came out with a great pudding idea for her- she loved it. Beautiful setting on the water edge. Not too bad for drink prices and reasonable food prices.

Last visited The Cellar two years ago and thought it was too expensive for what they were offering. HOWEVER I can safely say they seem to have listened and I had dinner here twice just over a week ago. The food is much better and the price is reasonable and comparable to other tavernas in the area. If you like seafood give this place a try
